How to find a specific journal article:


Try Google: http://www.google.com/. If you type in the whole title, it should come right up. You may only be able to see the abstract if you don't have a subscription to that particular journal. Often you can purchase just that article. Using Google Scholar may narrow your search results.

If you know the journal it was published in, go to their website. Either do a search for the title or author, or look at the "Archives" if you know when it was published. Sometimes articles older than one year are available for free, or you can purchase just a particular article. Some of the most common journals are listed at the right.

If you don't know the title or authors, or are just looking for articles on a topic or by an author, try the PubMed database at http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/

Another excellent search site is the ISI Web of Knowledge but it requires a subscription
